The brief

What had to change

Warner Bros. Discovery and BT Group combined BT Sport and Eurosport in the UK into a single joint venture, which launched as TNT Sports in 2023. Two sports broadcasters with their own facilities, suppliers, workflows and teams had to become one, without interrupting live coverage.

My role was the technical delivery of the new service: designing and contracting the facilities, setting up the workflow operations and building the operating structure the combined teams would work in.

The work

What was delivered

  • A new production facility built at Stockley Park
  • MCR, ingest and edit commissioned at Chiswick Park
  • BT Sport Studios at Olympic Park closed while BT Sport stayed on air
  • Facility design, contracts and the operating structure for the combined teams

Why it matters

What it shows

Merger integration in live sport leaves no room for a second take. The programme had to move people, facilities and suppliers while the output carried on, which is why cutover planning sat at the centre of it rather than at the end.

Let’s talk about what needs to change

Tell me the problem in a paragraph. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it. The first 30-minute call is at no charge, and under NDA if you need one.
