The brief

What had to change

Sky operated content supply chains in three markets, the UK, Italy and Germany, alongside the NOW streaming service. Each had grown its own processes, systems and organisation, and the group needed one strategy for how content would be processed and delivered across them.

The work ran from strategy to structure: setting the direction for the next-generation supply chain, then designing the group operating model for content operations, with 200 content operations staff and multi-million-pound budgets in scope.

The work

What was delivered

  • Strategy set for a next-generation group content supply chain
  • Group operating model designed for content operations
  • Group structure set across the UK, Italy and Germany
  • In-source versus outsource model evaluated and built

Why it matters

What it shows

A group operating model only works if it fits three different businesses at once. The value came from deciding what had to be common across markets and what could stay local, and from testing in-sourcing against outsourcing on cost, control and resilience before committing.
